About

I teach Vinyasa, Power Yoga, and Yin Yoga/ 200 hour certified

I began my yoga journey in 2012, maybe? When I started does not necessarily matter too much in my book, but what does is my dedication to my practice, my clients, the students who come to my classes, and delivering a safe and compassionate environment to explore and create. Through movement accompanied by the conscious breath, we have the ability to connect to the divine self and achieve some pretty spectacular things.

I found true love with the practice when I walked into a Bikram yoga studio wayyyy back in 2014, again who cares about the date. I was a former gymnast in my childhood and through my early teen years, but then social life and academics kicked in and I lost that athletic determination for some time. Life can get in the way like that, but we have the chance to discover it again at any time. And that is what happened to me. After falling in love with yoga and its ability to heal me from so many various stressful factors of my everyday life, I continued to relentlessly practice and self train going on to receive my license from Dhyana Yoga's Teacher Training Program. From there, I continued on to advance my teaching at Philly Power Yoga and Thrive Pilates as a participant in their Work Study program. Philly Power has given me the opportunity to train and grow tremendously as an instructor as I have gotten to train and take classes with some of the most influential and inspiring yoga teachers within the Philadelphia community, and for that I am beyond grateful. I would not be where I am without their acceptance, devotion, and belief in me as a teacher.

My life's mantra is "Where you invest your love, is where you invest your life", and so that is what I try to live by each of the moments in my days. I have become something I never dreamed I could be. I am a survivor of having suffered from PTSD, which includes anxiety and depression. I have come out from my experience a stronger woman, but it has taken a tremendous amount of determination and I greatly empathize with those who live in pain on a daily basis. A few years ago I would say "That could never be me. I could never do that... not in my wildest dreams", but I let go of that false belief I held as my truth, and then I found a useful two word affirmation, which is "let go"...  I am working to create a beautiful life for myself and those around me. Yoga is for everyone, and I want to inspire each of you to reach your goals in regards to your health, mobility, flexibility, relaxation, and in healing from your past.

YIN YOGA

OM... Yin! The opposite of your Yang. We all possess both feminine and masculine energies of varying degrees, males and females alike. We can not have one without the other. This is a great complimentary practice to any athletic activities you partake in and really for all your life endeavours. Yin is deep, it is slow, and it is still. It is about finding the balance within the inner terrain of your bodies and works to break through the deepest layers of connective tissues rather than just the superficial muscles. I offer an hour and fifteen minute slow paced class filled with a few dozen poses that you will hold from 3 minutes up to 5 minutes or so in length. Great for flexibility and mobility in the joints. This class is designed for any level.

CLASSES

Vinyasa

My main teaching style is Vinyasa. It is my favorite thing to do in this entire world. It is my vent and my escape. I love its fluid and simplistic nature. It is like a beautiful spiritual dance with your body synchronized with the victorious breath. It can be extremely meditative although a bit of a challenge. I find it to be a very empowering experience for students to explore what their bodies are capable of doing and it is amazing for me to see my students progress over time. I love coming up with creative and fun flows that involve tons of deep stretches, but that which also work to challenge strength building in all areas of the body. I teach beginner level classes as well as all levels.
